Part One: Design Exploration

We take the time to learn all about you and what you love. Whether you come in with a strong vision for your space or have no idea what your preferences are, we work with you to identify your personal aesthetic. We discover where your boundaries lie and build a strong foundation to embark on crafting a personalized design.


Part Two: Sourcing & Design

Now it’s time for the main event: product sourcing and design work. This phase covers every detail of your project—from finding the perfect armchair (and determining where to put it) all the way to finessing custom built-in details. We start by creating a personalized sourcing catalog, which you’ll review alongside to-scale CAD drawings of your space. Incorporating your feedback along the way, we’ll build a design that’s perfectly suited to you and your space.


Part Three: Installation

Whether you’re 3,000 miles away or just down the road, we will provide thorough guidance on your installation process. You can expect full-service order management, detailed construction plans, and in-person or virtual oversight. Until the final picture frame is hung and the last pillow is fluffed, we will be by your side to see your design through.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • All-in, a single room design timeline starts at four months. This includes our design process, placing (and waiting for) orders, and final installation. The more complex and renovation-heavy a project is, the longer the timeline is.

  • We like to set $25,000 as a realistic minimum all-in budget for a standard decorating project (i.e. there is no major renovation work). This budget will allow us to consider all design elements such as wall treatments, lighting, window coverings, furniture, and décor. While a lower budget will require some trade-offs and a mix of high- and low-price point sourcing, we feel confident that we can get you to the finish line with a design you love in this budget.

  • We want to make the most of your budget as much as you do! At Megan Hopp Design, we extend our FULL designer trade discount to our Signature Service clients. This means that if we get 20% off the sofa, you get 20% off the sofa. Additionally, rest assured that we will never try to push you to purchase something unnecessarily expensive so that we can pocket a cut.

  • Yes! We are happy and eager to include a few key, existing pieces in your design—as long as we feel they are in line with the style and goals you have for your space. We understand how important your budget is, and we want to use it as wisely as possible. Therefore, if we are able to incorporate any key pieces you already own, we are happy to do so.

  • Unfortunately, no, we do not have the capacity to take on partial room designs at this time. While we can incorporate a few existing pieces a client may have, we are exclusively working with clients who can commit to a full room design scope.
